Microsoft is currently busy shaping up their next version of Windows 10 the Fall Creators Update after the recently concluded final bug bash for this major update. Microsoft will soon stabilize the OS update with bug fixes and performance improvements on the basis of all the feedback they have received from the bug bash. We won’t be seeing new features added in the upcoming Insider Preview builds.

Microsoft has announced that they are currently testing a new “Skip Ahead” feature in Windows Update setting for Insiders. This feature will allow Windows Insiders to test the next Windows 10 update branch aka Redstone 4 directly without needing to go through the upcoming updates to current branch for bug fixing.

Microsoft said in a blog post they are having two sub branches for insiders in a development branch for eg. rs_prerelease which adds features and rs_release which focuses more on bug fixes and improvements. So What this new feature will do is that it will allow insiders to directly switch from rs3_prerelease to rs4_prerelease builds without needing to receive  rs3_release builds.

How do our readers feel about this upcoming change in the Insider Program? And are you interested in jumping the development branch?
