Gartner has released their Magic Quadrant for Cloud Infrastructure as a Service report where they have placed Redmond giant Microsoft as a Leader. And this moment only Microsoft and Amazon are placed as leaders in this category. We have recently seen that Microsoft’s Azure has gained a lot in the IaaS market in the last one year and it still has to go a long way to catch up Amazon in this market. But this looks to be tough task because Amazon with its AWS is aggressively investing in its service and hence gaining more and more ground from the hands of other niche players in this market. One thing that is quite sure at the current situation is that both Azure and AWS are growing much faster and looking far away from rest of the market in the magic quadrant.

Microsoft has a broad set of services offered by Azure that can handle multiple workloads and hence is appealing to multiple levels of customers. Gartner considers Microsoft not just as another vendor but as more of a strategic enterprise cloud partner. They consider this as a key for Microsoft to reduce the gap between them and Amazon in IaaS market. Microsoft provides end-to-end IT cloud solutions based on Office 365, Windows, Azure, Dynamics 365 and more.
