With the aim to Powering the industry 4.0 revolution in manufacturing with Windows 10 Microsoft to bring the Windows 10 on the Smartwatch. Well of course earlier Microsoft was expected to bring the Windows 10 on smartwatch via Band 3. But it looks like it didn’t come out very well.

Meanwhile a German OEM TrekStor working on a new smartwatch that powered by the Windows 10 IoT Core. That means that this smartwatch will be run any Universal Windows Apps. Though, in order to run win32 app developer needs to bound the app via Project Centennial. And in addition the smartwatch will also able to utilize some other Microsoft services such as Azure and Cognitive.

Furthermore, Microsoft shared that the smartwatch will have a 1.54-inch display and it protected by Gorilla Glass 3. In addition the smartwatch is Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled, has plenty of storage space and has the processing power and battery life to perform its line-of-business functions.

 

But the sad thing about this watch is that German OEM TrekStor is not building this smartwatch for consumers, they are is building the smartwatch for commercial use, and it’s supposed to be used in Industrial automation, Building automation, Inventory management, healthcare scenarios.

Of course the Windows 10 on 1.54 inch display smartwatch is very exciting. Well of course, not all UWP app will run efficiently on the device maybe OEM will build its own apps.
